ORIGINAL ARTICLE: WESTLEIGH — The Ku-ring-Gai Local Area Command is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 65 year old Leonie Cavanagh out of the Westleigh, New South Wales area.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Leonie was last seen on April 7, 2017. Police are concerned for the welfare of a woman missing in Westleigh, in north-west Sydney. Leonie Cavanagh, aged 65, was last seen at her home in Duneba Drive in Westleigh about 9 am today (Friday 7 April 2017). Leonie suffers from a medical condition and may not be aware of her surroundings. Family, friends and police investigating the incident hold serious concerns for her welfare. She does not have access to medication. Leonie is described as 65-years-old. She is 160 cm tall with auburn hair. She was last seen wearing black pants, a fawn polo fleece jacket and black shoes.

• GENDER: Female.
• ETHNICITY: Caucasian.
• HAIR: Auburn Hair.
• HEIGHT: 160 cm.
• WEIGHT: Slim.

    A woman who was reported missing from north-west Sydney yesterday has been located safe and well.

    About 9am yesterday (Friday 7 April 2017) the 65-year-old woman left her Westleigh home. When she failed to return, concerned family and friends alerted police.

    Officers from Kuring Gai Local Area Command assisted by officers from the Dog Squad, Polair, Public Order and Riot Squad, Police Rescue and SES volunteers searched the Westleigh residential and bushland areas into the night.

    Following extensive searches, about 12.45am this morning (Saturday 8 April 2017), the woman was located safe and well nearby.

    Police thank the public and media for their assistance.
